Tyrell Malacia injury update with Man United statement on possible return date
Manchester United have confirmed that Tyrell Malacia has had to undergo a second operation during his injury rehabilitation.
Tyrell Malacia has not played for Manchester United this season after the left-back was ruled a long-term absentee due to an operation on his knee.
Malacia has been one name on a list of many players unavailable to Erik ten Hag so far this campaign, with the club suffering a monumental injury crisis.

After having an operation on his knee, the club have now confirmed that due to a setback in his rehabilitation, Malacia has had to undergo a second operation and is now due to return early in 2024.
“Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia is on course to return to action early next year as he recovers from a knee injury,” an official club statement read.
“The Dutch left-back has not played so far this season following an operation over the summer.
“Unfortunately, he suffered a setback during his rehabilitation, which required further surgery.
“This has been successfully completed, and Malacia is now back at Carrington and working hard to be fit early in the new year.”
United are also not expecting Lisandro Martínez to be available until 2024, but Luke Shaw recently returned from an injury layoff and is once again fit to start for United with Sergio Reguilón as a second option.
