Two Manchester United stars in top 10 fastest Premier League list, Marcus Rashford 5th fastest
Two Manchester United stars have been recorded in the top 10 fastest Premier League players list so far this season.
The Reds have had a difficult start to the season, managing just one Premier League victory in their first three matches.
A 3-0 loss to rivals Liverpool followed a last-minute defeat to Brighton. Despite a promising opening win against Fulham, Erik ten Hag’s side still has a lot of work ahead.
United players have returned from the international break ahead of their trip to Southampton in the Premier League.
One thing they need to do is start taking their chances. We have seen how frightening some players can be in attack, and two stars have clocked some of the fastest sprints across the league.
Two United stars in the top 10 fastest list
Statistics from Opta have revealed that Manchester City striker Erling Halaand has been the fastest player in the Premier League so far this season. He clocked a speed of 35.74 km/h.
Two United players were included in the top 10 list, with Alejandro Garnacho registering the third-highest top speed of any Premier League player, with 35.48 km/h. That is only bettered by Timo Werner (35.69 km/h) and Haaland.
Behind Garnacho comes Cameron Archer of Southampton in fourth place, who clocked an impressive 35.47 km/h top speed.
Known speedster Marcus Rashford is fifth on the list with a speed of 35.35 km/h, not far behind his teammate Garnacho.
The rest of the list, in order from sixth to tenth, includes Yerson Mosquera (35.32), Micky van de Ven (35.17), Antonee Robinson (35.14), Son Heung-Min (35.13) and Gabriel Martinelli (35.08).
United must click in attack
We have seen the frightening pace that Garnacho and Rashford possess. Rasmus Højlund is also extremely fast, while Amad Diallo and Joshua Zirkzee have great linkup play.
Yet, the team are struggling to score goals and continues to waste opportunities in transitional moments.
These players have got to click sooner or later. They do not currently look like they are on the same wavelength, but these things can change quickly if confidence is brought up.
To get that confidence, they need to start scoring goals against teams, with Southampton the next test this weekend.
