Two Manchester United players have reacted after Bryan Mbeumo deliered the perfect message for Ruben Amorim this week.
Manchester United are continuing negotiations for their second signing of the summer, with a move for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo edging closer.
Following the arrival of Matheus Cunha earlier this month, Rúben Amorim is eager to further strengthen his attacking options. However, progress in talks with Brentford over Mbeumo has been gradual.
United’s initial £55 million bid for the 25-year-old was turned down in early June. Earlier this week, the club returned with an improved offer worth £55 million plus an additional £7.5 million in performance-related add-ons.
Although earlier reports suggested United were confident the revised bid would be accepted, it has since emerged that Brentford have rejected the improved proposal.
United remain determined to have Mbeumo signed in time for the start of pre-season training on 7 July, with Amorim’s side in need of strong preparations for the 2025/26 campaign.

One benefit United have in these negotiations is the fact that Mbeumo’s preference is a move to Old Trafford and he has made that clear to his club.
Fabrizio Romano uploaded a fresh update on the situation on Instagram on Sunday afternoon, where he stated that a third offer is going to come from United.
The Italian journalist also clarified that “Mbeumo has been clear: he wants Man United,” and that is the perfect message for Amorim as he awaits an agreement.
Interestingly, it has been noticed that both Cunha and Joshua Zirkzee have liked that latest update from Romano and are clearly excited to welcome Mbeumo as their new teammate.
Cunha and Mbeumo could join Zirkzee in frontline
Mbeumo, Cunha and Zirkzee could easily be a front three we see next season, especially if United do not end up signing a world-class level striker.
The Dutch forward struggled at the beginning of last season but showed improvement before suffering injury towards the end of the campaign.
Some have suggested that Zirkzee’s levels could improve even more with the additions of Cunha and Mbeumo behind him.
It will certainly be interesting to see how Amorim sets up with the new players in the frontline, with several different options being available with these signings.
