Manchester United return to Premier League action this weekend with an important clash against their rivals Manchester City.
Ruben Amorim’s start at Manchester United has been far from smooth, with just one win, one draw and two defeats in the opening weeks of the 2025/26 campaign.
A narrow 1-0 loss to Arsenal opened the season, though there were signs of promise in the performance. That was followed by a flat 1-1 draw away at Fulham, before United endured a nightmare in the Carabao Cup; knocked out on penalties by League Two side Grimsby Town after a 2-2 stalemate.
The first victory of Amorim’s reign finally came against Burnley, with Bruno Fernandes converting a stoppage-time penalty to seal a dramatic 3-2 win.
After the international break, United turn their attention to a derby clash with Manchester City, with Amorim desperate for his team to display greater ruthlessness.
