Manchester United fans have reacted to a shocking report from Fabrizio Romano this week and slammed a ‘horrible decision’ from one player.
After wrapping up deals for Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Šeško this summer, Manchester United are now turning their attention to outgoings.
Reinforcements in midfield and in goal could still arrive before the deadline, but further business hinges on player sales, having already spent close to £200 million without recouping any fees.
The club are prepared to listen to offers for players such as Rasmus Højlund and Alejandro Garnacho in the final weeks of the transfer window.
Garnacho, 21, has been exiled from the United squad since his comments criticising Ruben Amorim after the Europa League final in May.
United fans cannot believe shocking Fabrizio Romano update
It has been clear for several weeks now that Garnacho is desperate to join Chelsea and Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that club-to-club talks are progressing for a deal.
Despite the fact that Enzo Maresca’s side are unwilling to meet Garnacho’s valuation, they are hoping that United will lower their demands. That will be helped by the fact that Garnacho is only looking to join the Stamford Bridge outfit.
In fact, Romano’s latest report added that Garnacho has turned down an approach from Bayern Munich in the last 48 hours, and United fans have labelled it as a ‘horrible decision’ by the Argentine.
One supporter wrote: “Man how did the minds of some of our players rot to such an extent. Bayern is a much more stable club and a fantastic place for him to nurture his talent. But no, he’d rather stay with the reserves than take that opportunity.”
Another added: “Needs to be in reserves until contract is over! What a sad ending for such a promising young talent.”
“This is pure stupidness. Guarantee a spot in a squad or join a team with 40 wingers,” a third claimed.
Chelsea won’t give Garnacho the same patience
Garnacho turning down a European giant to push for a move to Chelsea, who are refusing to match his price tag, is certainly a frustration.
It is also interesting that the Argentine is so insistent on a move to the Blues even though there is very little chance that he is a guaranteed starter in their team.
Maresca and the Chelsea fanbase will not be as patient as Erik ten Hag, Amorim and the United faithful were. Then, we are all aware of how Garnacho acted when he was dropped or substituted in games.
His confidence is admirable, although it would not be surprising if he was found frustrated on the bench next season at Chelsea, that is if the Reds end up sanctioning the deal.
