Three ways how Matheus Cunha has ‘impressed Ruben Amorim’ during first week of Manchester United training

Matheus Cunha has completed his first week of Manchester United training following his £62.5 million move from Wolves earlier this summer.

Manchester United’s first signing of the summer was wrapped up early in the window, with Matheus Cunha joining from Premier League side Wolves.

Supporters were delighted with this deal as Cunha is a player who has proven he can score goals and perform in England’s highest division. He netted 15 goals for Wolves last term.

While other signings have failed to follow so far, Ruben Amorim would have been delighted to start working with Cunha from day one of pre-season.

Now, despite only being in his second week of being a United player, Cunha has already made a strong impression at Carrington.

Three reasons why Cunha has impressed Amorim

According to a new report from GiveMeSport, after his first week of pre-season training, the Brazilian international is already impressing Amorim in a lot of different ways.

In particular, the Portuguese boss has been pleased with Cunha’s positive attitude, appetite for hard work and the fact that he’s already become popular in the dressing room.

Of course, what the 26-year-old offers on the pitch is also going to be crucial for United – but that almost goes without saying.

The aforementioned report added that Amorim is hoping that Cunha’s attacking ability can take some pressure off Bruno Fernandes, while giving the team an ‘injection of cleverness, energy and aggression’.

Cunha gearing up for United vs Leeds

Cunha will be glad that he’s settling in well behind the scenes at United but the Brazilian’s attention will likely be on the upcoming pre-season friendly against Leeds this weekend.

That game in Stockholm will be the first for Cunha in United colours and he will be desperate to get off to a strong start, even though he will probably only be playing 45 minutes.

Scoring a goal in that game would certainly be a nice boost for the new signing, who will be expected to improve United in the final third next term.

He might be the only first-team signing present for that game, with United still working on a deal for Bryan Mbeumo, although 18-year-old defender Diego Leon will likely feature too.
