Manchester United have now started their second week of pre-season training and Ruben Amorim’s squad should be deep into their preparations for upcoming friendlies.
There is a desperate need for improvement at Manchester United for the upcoming campaign after disappointing so much last term.
Despite a lot of work still needing to be done in the transfer window, Ruben Amorim and his squad have to focus on preparing well over pre-season.
After returning to Carrington last week, with new players Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon spotted, the Reds are now into their second week of training and they will then face Leeds on the weekend.
United’s official media team welcomed the squad back to the training ground on Monday morning, and there were several interesting things noticed by UtdDistrict in their video.
Cunha and Casemiro arrive together
After his first full week of United training, Cunha will be eyeing that Leeds game as a chance to make a good first impression on the club’s supporters.
He is also clearly getting more comfortable with his new teammates, the midfielder said that he has been joking with Noussair Mazraoui about their previous battles on the pitch.
But it was his fellow countryman who Cunha arrived at the training ground with, as Casemiro was in good spirits entering the building with the new signing. A couple of weeks ago Cunha said that Antony was his favourite-ever Brazilian to play for the club but that might change soon.
Martínez arrives for training
In what feels like a big boost for the club and Amorim, the latest arrivals video also caught Lisandro Martínez entering the training ground.
The 27-year-old defender has been out of action with injury since February but some reports did claim that he will start training on the grass over pre-season. He was spotted last week as well during Amad’s birthday celebrations.
We should not be expecting Martínez to play in any of these upcoming friendlies, but his presence on the training pitches suggests that he’s ahead of schedule in his aims to return to the squad.
Onana turns up despite hamstring injury
André Onana is another player who is injured after he suffered a hamstring injury which will keep him out of action for the entire pre-season tour.
But the goalkeeper still arrived at Carrington with the same smile on his face when the media team caught his arrival at the start of the week.
Some reports have suggested that he’s responded well to initial tests and that the injury might not be as bad as first anticipated, but it still looks like someone like – potentially Radek Vitek – will get a chance between the sticks for these warm-up games.
