Manchester United posted clips and images of their latest training session ahead of Brentford and there were several interesting things noticed.
Manchester United open this weekend’s Premier League schedule with a Saturday afternoon visit to Brentford in West London.
Under Ruben Amorim, the Reds have registered two wins, two losses, and a draw so far, sitting 11th in the table and still searching for rhythm.
Their victories came through a late Bruno Fernandes spot-kick against Burnley and last weekend’s 2-0 win over Chelsea; a match shaped by Robert Sánchez’s dismissal, which gave United the platform to take control.
After that result against Enzo Maresca’s side, the meeting with Brentford provides Amorim the chance to secure successive league wins for the first time in his tenure, potentially marking the start of greater stability.
Ahead of the Brentford clash, UtdDistrict have noted three interesting things noticed from United’s latest training session.
Youth star involved
United’s session involved the first-team regulars, with Diego Leon and Tyler Fredricson becoming regulars in Amorim’s squad.
But young winger Sam Mather was also spotted in the session. The 21-year-old winger was not sent out on loan this term.
Mather has two assists in two appearances for the Under-21s so far this term and will be desperate to get more first-team involvement considering he hasn’t left the club for professional minutes.
The wide man was pictured alongside Kobbie Mainoo in the session, a player he shared the pitch with in the 2022 FA Youth Cup final victory.
Šeško impresses United teammates
Benjamin Šeško is still getting settled into life in Manchester and the striker will also be desperate to score his first goal as soon as possible.
He appears to be doing the work behind the scenes. United posted an image of him attempting an acrobatic finish in the latest session. There was also a clip where he finished clinically from a Matheus Cunha pass.
Club reporter Adam Marshall watched the session and described the no.30 as ‘very sharp’ and also noted how ‘the Slovenia striker’s clinical marksmanship drew appreciative ripples of applause and shouts of ‘yes, Ben’ from his colleagues’.
The new addition will be hoping that this sharpness translates to the pitch against Brentford on the weekend, and there is a chance that United start with all three of their new attacking signings on the pitch.
Dalot returns to action
Mason Mount and Cunha returned to action last weekend and the latest training session also showed Diogo Dalot back in the fold after he suffered an issue during the last international break.

The Portuguese defender is clearly favoured by Amorim and will be a useful option against Brentford, even though he will likely start from the bench.
That also means that Lisandro Martínez is the only unavailable Red for the game against The Bees, with the Argentine still working hard to recover from his long-term knee injury.
