Bryan Mbeumo took part in his first Manchester United session on Tuesday morning before Ruben Amorim’s squad took flight for their pre-season tour.
Manchester United finally confirmed the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford this week in a deal worth a potential £71 million.
The Cameroonian forward was announced on Monday evening and took part in his first training session on the following morning before the squad departed for the United States.
After explaining his excitement to get started in his first interview for the club, Mbeumo has gotten the chance to meet his new teammates on the training pitch.
There were several interesting things noted from the training images the club uploaded on their social media channels.
All smiles from Mbeumo
The most glaring thing noticed was the beaming smile on Mbeumo’s face when he had to ‘run the gauntlet’ in the session. Mbeumo has stated how excited he is to join the club and his face matched that.
“Now I’m here, I’m just really happy. For me, it’s the biggest club in the world. The fans are crazy, the stadium is amazing, and every player wants to play here,” he said during that opening interview.
That excitement will soon be moving to the pitch as he prepares for his unofficial debut against West Ham this weekend in New Jersey.
Mbeumo will help improve the defenders
Among the images to be posted by United, there was one which saw Mbeumo battling it out against 18-year-old defender Ayden Heaven.
There has been a lot of talk about the 25-year-old helping United’s attacking play but it will also be beneficial for the younger defenders to face up against a player of his calibre in training on a daily basis.
Just like Matheus Cunha, he is a proven option in the Premier League and they are both set to help United in all areas.
Maguire injury clarification
Amid all of the attention on United’s latest signing, it was also noticed that Harry Maguire was present in the session despite the fact he has not joined the squad on tour.
Pictured alongside Mbeumo, the English centre-back is reportedly staying due to personal matters and is not injured, even though he only played around 25 minutes against Leeds.
Maguire could link up with the squad and his new teammate later in the tour.
