“They’ve been missing” – Jonny Evans admits Manchester United have key player problem
Jonny Evans has admitted that Manchester United have a problem after the Old Trafford Manchester derby defeat on Sunday afternoon.
Manchester City made light work of Manchester United as they pulled away from Old Trafford with a convincing 3-0 victory over Erik ten Hag‘s side, with Pep Guardiola‘s side chasing down a fourth Premier League title in a row.
Erling Haaland (2) and Phil Foden netted beyond Andrè Onana, despite some brilliant saves from the Cameroon goalkeeper, to keep The Reds 8th in the Premier League table and on just 15 points out of a possible 30 in the opening 10 games of the competition.

Jonny Evans, who started the tie, spoke after the game and admitted that Manchester United have a problem with several key players being injured and that the side must move on from the loss.
“It’s never easy,” Evans told MUTV. “Everyone’s disappointed. You wish you could turn back the clock, but you know we’ve got to move on now.”
“At this club that’s what it’s all about, you’ve got to [move on]. We’ll be preparing for the next game now and making sure preparations are ready.
“I think we’ve been disrupted with a lot of injuries this season in terms of key personnel. Probably a lot of our starting players would be, you know, they’re missing. I think the manager’s found out difficulties having to sort of work on team, on tactics and having to change the personnel quite a lot with only two days in between games.
“So that’s been difficult, hopefully we can get more players back and get a real sort of opportunity to create freshness within the playing squad.”
United currently have Casemiro, Lisandro Martínez, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, and Tyrell Malacia all major absentees from the squad.
