“They make…” Marcus Rashford hints at big difference between Barcelona and Manchester United

Marcus Rashford has hinted at a big difference between his current side, Barcelona, and his parent club, Manchester United, as he continues his amazing form in Spain.

During Manchester United’s summer clear-out, Marcus Rashford found himself an interesting loan opportunity, which saw him move to Spain to be a part of Barcelona’s 2025/26 squad.

Having spent the final six months of last season on loan at Premier League rival Aston Villa, the summer transfer window presented Rashford with the perfect chance for a new start.

The 27-year-old winger was clearly not in the plans of Ruben Amorim, especially considering how Matheus Cunha was handed his number 10 shirt upon his arrival at the club.

Since joining Barcelona, Rashford has managed to find his feet and shown the world all that he is capable of for his new side. He has now revealed what has helped him to succeed abroad.

Rashford on his move to Barcelona

Rashford notched another assist for his new side during the Blaugrana’s 2-1 loss at home to Paris Saint-Germain last night, before then speaking to TV2 about his ambitions at Barcelona.

The Englishman explained how the Spanish club are helping him to improve. Recent history suggests that players get worse at Old Trafford.

“Barcelona is a good club. They play at the highest level and make players better. I think that will happen to me too,” he said, via Sport Witness.

“It’s good. I keep getting into it (life in Barcelona), but ultimately, I’m here to win football games. Today I don’t feel good (due to the loss). But the overall experience here has been good so far.”

Rashford has now contributed to seven goals in his nine appearances, and has been especially brilliant in Barcelona’s opening two Champions League fixtures, with his assist last night adding to his brace against Newcastle United.

Former Reds proving the grass is greener

After a difficult couple of seasons being in and out of favour at United, and struggling to find the form that most know he is capable of, it was questioned whether we had already seen the best of Rashford.

It is refreshing to see the boyhood Red Devil proving his doubters wrong in Spain, but it does begin to ask the question as to why former United stars continue to improve after leaving the club.

In the Champions League last night, all of Marcel Sabitzer, Rasmus Højlund and Anthony Elanga picked up Player of the Match awards for their respective clubs, whilst United continue to struggle.

As Rashford has proved, Barcelona’s environment does a great job of nurturing its players’ development, whilst United’s continues to force players into stagnation and regression.
