“They do everything…” – Gary Neville praises two Manchester United stars he “loves watching” under Ruben Amorim

Gary Neville has offered huge praise for two Manchester United stars who he “loves watching” under Ruben Amorim this season.

Manchester United appear to have finally found their rhythm this season, with the Reds stringing together three consecutive Premier League victories.

After a difficult start to the campaign, which increased the pressure on Ruben Amorim, United have begun to turn things around with wins over Sunderland, Liverpool, and Brighton.

The triumph at Anfield earlier this month was a standout moment, but following it up with another strong performance and result against Brighton may have been even more significant for Amorim’s men.

Over the past year, United have often risen to the occasion in big matches only to falter in those seen as more straightforward. That wasn’t the case against Brighton.

Next up, United travel to face Nottingham Forest, where they’ll meet newly appointed manager Sean Dyche. The in-form Reds will be aiming to extend their winning run and claim another valuable three points.

Neville praises two United stars he “loves watching”

Gary Neville has been speaking about his former side’s good form and offered big praise for two of the club’s new attackers, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. Both scored in the latest win over The Seagulls and Neville believes that they bring the exact kind of qualities that United forwards should have.

“The big thing for United is Cunha and Mbeumo, they are players who I love watching in a red shirt,” the ex-United defender said on his podcast. “Are they the best players to ever wear a red shirt, or the best forwards Manchester United have ever had? That’s still to be seen. But what I like about them is their hunger, their courage to take the ball, their positivity. They do everything I think a United forward should do.

“Now, they’ll make mistakes, they’ll give goals away. It’s Cunha’s first goal of the season, so he’s missed a lot of chances earlier on in the season as Mbeumo did as well. But what I can see is the intent is there to do the right thing every single time, to get on the ball, make runs in behind, take people on, be a threat.

“If they lose it five times, they go and get it a sixth time. All those things I’ve heard all my life are the values of a forward at United; go and try to win your team the game. Shoot from anywhere, whatever it is you think you can see, go and smell and do it. I just think they do really demonstrate that.”

Fans completely agree with Neville

United fans clearly agree with Neville and they are loving the impact that Cunha and Mbeumo are having in the frontline.

It is interesting how they both bring different attributes. Cunha’s swagger and confidence when driving for the ball is typical of a United forward but Mbeumo sometimes brings a smarter and more considered approach to his play.

Having both of those profiles in a team is great and United are starting to see the benefits now they are settling into the environment.

The most important thing is that, despite them being different kinds of players, they both bring two things to the table. They can score and work hard, and that is the bare minimum you need for a successful forward at Old Trafford.
