“The truth is…” – Casemiro praises three “top quality” Manchester United teammates and outlines 2025/26 ambitions

Manchester United star Casemiro has praised three of his ‘top quality’ teammates, as well as outlining the side’s ambitions for their 2025/26 campaign.

With Manchester United now three games into their new Premier League season, it is fair to say that Ruben Amorim’s side have struggled to get up and running.

The Red Devils won 3-2 at home to Burnley over the weekend, thanks to a 95th-minute penalty by their captain, Bruno Fernandes. This took them to four points from three matches.

The importance of United’s victory on Saturday cannot be understated, mainly due to the shock that they suffered in the Carabao Cup last week when they were knocked out by League Two side Grimsby on penalties.

Despite a tough start to the season, United star Casemiro is still full of optimism for the Reds heading forward, and was full of praise for a few of his ‘top quality’ teammates.

Casemiro praises new teammates

When interviewed by the club’s media, the Brazilian midfielder highlighted his personal goals for the season ahead, as well as mentioning the quality of his new teammates.

United have signed Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Šeško this summer to bolster their attack and Casemiro is pleased with those additions.

On his personal ambitions, the 33-year-old said that he wants, “To have a great year at the top level, because at the end of the season we have the World Cup.

“So, I want to arrive at the World Cup in good form. I want to enjoy the year, to arrive in top form, and it is the title that I am missing.

“So, I want to win titles, titles here. We have new signings of top quality that will help us a lot.”

Casemiro happy at ‘home’

United’s defensive midfielder continued his interview by saying how happy he and his family are at the club. He also spoke on how there is always room to improve.

He said, “Both myself and my family, we are all very happy here. I have played five finals here, winning two of them, so overall good but you can always improve. You can always do better.

“I am enjoying it a lot, and the truth is I’m very happy, and I feel like I’m at home.”

Clearly, the United star is very settled in Manchester, and hopefully for both himself and his side, he is able to have a successful season ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
