Manchester United signed Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat on deadline day in the summer transfer window but he has withdrawn from international duty with an injury.

The Moroccan national team – that impressively reached the final of the 2022 World Cup – have postponed their game against Liberia following the terrible earthquake in the country.
Before this, it was confirmed that United man Amrabat would leave the group.
In a week that has certainly been difficult to be a fan of the Old Trafford club, that was news that no supporter wanted to hear.
However, Morocco manager Walid Regragui has clarified further details behind the 27-year-old’s exit.
“Sofyan Amrabat felt something,” Regragui said. “We let him go as a precaution because he has just started his new adventure with Manchester United.”
It will be hoped that Amrabat can be fit for the home clash against Brighton in the Premier League next weekend. The Reds are missing several others out through injury such as Raphael Varane and Mason Mount.
Meanwhile, whilst the English transfer window has closed, there are still several transfer windows that remain open and are looking to sign players.
It was rumoured – following his latest social media post where he labelled himself as a ‘scapegoat’ – that Jadon Sancho was a target of a Saudi Arabia club on a loan deal, however, that was something that did not materialise.
The Turkish transfer window is open until 15 September and there was interest from Besiktas in 20-year-old midfielder Hannibal Mejbri, according to the Manchester Evening News.
It was a loan approach that was unsurprisingly rejected by the English club, who would be unable to bring in a replacement. It has also been reported that Erik ten Hag is planning to involve the Tunisian international in a bigger role this term.
Hannibal spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan in the Championship at Birmingham City. He then impressed during United’s tour of the US in the summer.
