“So excited…” – Manchester United star wants to prove Ruben Amorim right this season, he has a lot of doubters

One Manchester United star is ‘so excited’ for the new season as he wants to prove Ruben Amorim right after receiving support from the head coach.

Manchester United are looking to make major improvements this season after as they try to put the dreadful 2024/25 campaign behind them.

Ruben Amorim has secured the signings of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha so far this summer and they should help fix United’s attacking problems.

While more signings are desired before the summer transfer window slams shut, Amorim will also be looking to improve some of the existing talent at Old Trafford.

There are plenty of players who need to improve their own levels from last term and one has already explained that he is ‘excited’ to prove himself this season.

Mount excited to prove Amorim right

Mason Mount has had a difficult time at Old Trafford since arriving from Chelsea in the summer of 2023, with injuries hindering his experience.

The midfielder has received plenty of support from Amorim, who believes he’s perfect for the system, but now has to prove his ability.

Asked whether he is looking forward to showcasing his level next season, Mount told club media: “Yeah, 100 per cent, 100 per cent.

“I look at the end of last season, it was positive for me to get back in the shape that I was in and to be able to play and finish the end of the season off, to get a few goals and to be back in with the lads that’s the most important thing.

“We’re all in this together and I think this period now is so important for us to spend time together, to train, but yeah personally I’m feeling really good.

“I feel like I’m in a really good place at the moment, in training in the games and just really kicking on now and I’m so excited for the start of the season.”

Mount has plenty of doubters

Mount might be considered ‘perfect’ in those no.10 roles but he has fierce competition now after the additions of Cunha and Mbeumo.

Both of those players guarantee goals too, and that is where Mount has struggled at Old Trafford. He has scored four goals for the club.

Everyone can agree that he brings other things to the table. For example, United’s press always looking 10 times better when he’s in the team.

But in order to have a successful season next term, he has to bring more to the table and there are plenty who doubt his ability to do that.

It does seem like he will get chances though, it’s just about how he manages to take them.
