Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s stance on Jose Mourinho’s return to Man United has been revealed
Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s stance on a potential return to Manchester United for Jose Mourinho has been revealed in new reports.
Mourinho, 61, has recently been sacked by AS Roma, whom he won the UEFA Conference League with, and he is now looking for a new club.
News emerged on Wednesday evening, which stated that the Portuguese manager is eager to rejoin Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s new regime at Old Trafford.
Mourinho believes that he has ‘unfinished business’ at United, which he was sacked from in December 2018. He won two major trophies during his time in charge of the club.
However, recent reports detailing Ratcliffe’s current problem with Erik ten Hag’s recruitment have seemed to address INEOS’ stance on Mourinho.
It was stated by footballtransfers.com reporter Jacque Talbot that the new sporting leaders at United already have replacements in mind for Erik ten Hag ahead of the end of the season, but there are no current talks yet.
The group led by Ratcliffe is ‘baffled’ by the recruitment made by the Dutch boss and believes that the club need a ‘fresh start’ in the dugout.
This suggests that they would not be looking to provide Jose Mourinho with his wish of fulfilling ‘unfinished business’ at the club, with new members of staff wanted.
Mourinho has admitted recently that there are still people at Old Trafford who will stop success at the club.
“There are still people in that club, and when I say people, I mean some players but also some other people that are not players, that are still there when I told [United] after two months: ‘With these people, you are never going to do it.’ And they are still there,” he recently said on the Obi One podcast.
“At Manchester United, I changed a player at half-time… his agent was then accusing me of bullying.“I had to change. I remember these times, and I laugh about these times, but it’s different times.”
