Sir Jim Ratcliffe set to strip Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United powers over to ‘experts’
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to strip Erik ten Hag of his Manchester United transfer powers and hand them to “experts” amid uncertainty over his future.
Manchester United‘s season so far has seen Erik ten Hag guide his squad to seven defeats across the Champions League and Premier League, with the club struggling for form both away from home and at Old Trafford.
This has led many to speculate that Ten Hag’s future at the club may be in doubt – but recent reports have claimed that this is not the case.

According to INews, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is poised to make a 25% takeover of United and gain full sporting control of the team, has faith that Ten Hag can fix the club’s current on-field mess, but the British billionaire is set to reduce the Dutchman’s responsibilities.
Ratliffe is set to take away Erik ten Hag’s current transfer powers and instead put the responsibilities of player recruitment into the hands of “experts”, leaving Ten Hag with more availability to coach the current players.
Former head of recruitment for Tottenham Hotspur Paul Mitchell is said to be the main candidate to take over the role of sporting director at United, and current high-level employees at United such as Richard Arnold and John Murtough could be out of a job by the end of the season.
Manchester United recently lost 3-0 to Manchester City at Old Trafford in what can only be seen as a depressing day in the club’s history, with the recent treble winners firmly establishing themselves as the greatest team on the planet once again.
Ten Hag will lead his squad out against Newcastle United on Wednesday evening in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup in a bid to help rescue his season.
