Sheffield United defender Ben Mee praised three of Manchester United’s in-form stars when discussing the club on punditry duty.
Manchester United have found real momentum under Michael Carrick, following impressive back-to-back victories over Manchester City, Arsenal and Fulham.
The run of results has strengthened their push for a top-four finish, with the added benefit of a lighter schedule thanks to their absence from European football.
Many players are beginning to hit their best form which is good news for United, who can make it four consecutive wins on the weekend against Tottenham Hotspur.
Ben Mee praises three United players
United are regularly spoken about within the media and they were a topic on Sky Sports once again on Friday evening. Fortunately, it was a positive segment about how the team has turned around under Carrick.
Sheffield United defender Ben Mee was working on punditry duty alongside ex-Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson and was keen to praise three of United’s players.
“Obviously [Bruno] Fernandes has been fantastic this year,” Mee began his assessment of United’s attacking talent.
“Bryan has been great, Bryan Mbeumo, and [Matheus] Cunha’s looking to be a little bit more sharper now as well and scoring goals which is fantastic for them.
“So yeah, when a new manager does come in it does give you a little bit more of a bounce and the person Carrick is, he demands that respect for what he’s done at the club as well.”
Things are starting to click for Cunha
It is no surprise to hear Mee praising Mbeumo after the pair worked together at Brentford for three years and Fernandes is someone who always earns respect from his peers.
Cunha had a difficult start at Old Trafford in front of goal but now has collected eight goal contributions in the Premier League, three of which have come in Carrick’s three games in charge.

Mee is correct; things are starting to click for Cunha, who is looking sharper every time he steps on the pitch, and that is good news for United.
Benjamin Šeško is experiencing a similar situation. He did not start as strongly as someone like Mbeumo but the good signs are there and after his winner against Fulham, he will be hoping to move in the same direction as Cunha.
