Rúben Amorim will be waiting for updates on five of his Manchester United stars as they prepare to face Everton at Old Trafford on Monday evening.
With the November international break coming to a close, Rúben Amorim is turning his attention to Manchester United’s fixture against Everton on Monday evening.
The club currently sit seventh in the Premier League table, but are level on points with Tottenham in fifth, while they are one point off Sunderland in fourth and two points from third-placed Chelsea.
After starting the campaign off poorly, United are unbeaten in their last five fixtures and have lost just one of their last seven as they start to look up the Premier League table.
Meanwhile, Everton sit 13th in the league with two losses, two wins, and a draw coming across their last five games, although their recent 2-0 loss against Fulham before the break has left David Moyes’ men in good spirits ahead of the Old Trafford clash.
United have a few injury problems they will want to assess in the coming days ahead of the fixture against Everton.
Harry Maguire
What happened: Harry Maguire started United’s last fixture against Tottenham Hotspur, but had to go off injured with a hamstring problem in the 77th minute.
What was said: There has been little in the way of an update since Amorim confirmed Maguire “had to” leave the field in North London. He is likely to give a full update on Friday afternoon, during his pre-match press conference at Carrington.
Possible return date: N/A until further confirmation is given, likely to come on Friday.
Casemiro
What happened: Much like Maguire, Casemiro was substituted in the 72nd minute against Tottenham.
What was said: Amorim confirmed at the time that it was due to a heavy knock. However, Casemiro since started and scored for Brazil against Senegal, indicating that he has recovered.
Possible return date: 24 November – Everton (H)
Benjamin Šeško
What happened: After coming on as a substitute against Tottenham in the second half, Benjamin Šeško was tackled by Micky van de Ven and went down with a knee injury, and had to be withdrawn with five minutes left to play.
What was said: “We have to see, we think he has a problem, but let’s see,” Amorim said at the time. News has since surfaced that although the club feel Šeško’s injury is not serious, he may miss a few fixtures.
Possible return date: 4 December – West Ham (H).
Lisandro Martínez
What happened: Lisandro Martínez has been out of action since late February after an ACL tear against Crystal Palace. he then returned to full team training two weeks ago.
What was said: When asked if Martínez was ready to be involved vs Nottingham Forest once he returned to training, Amorim confirmed he was going to hold the defender back from returning to action. But, having trained with the Argentina national side this week, he may be fully fit to return to action.
Possible return date: 24 November – Everton (H)
Kobbie Mainoo
What happened: Kobbie Mainoo has not started a single league fixture this season, but has been on the bench for almost every game. However, he did not feature in the squad that drew against Tottenham.
What was said: It has been claimed in the media that although Mainoo missed the Spurs tie, his injury is not thought to be serious, and he is expected back in training this week.
Possible return date: 24 November – Everton (H)
