Second Manchester United target admits Rúben Amorim transfer is a “dream” move after Bryan Mbeumo

A second Manchester United target has admitted that moving to Rúben Amorim’s club would be a dream for him following Bryan Mbeumo’s transfer.

Manchester United are close to wrapping up their second signing of the summer, with talks over a deal for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo now at an advanced stage.

Rúben Amorim is looking to add further quality to his frontline following the arrival of Matheus Cunha earlier this month, though discussions with Brentford have been anything but simple.

United saw a £55 million bid rejected at the start of June, but returned with an improved offer worth over £60 million earlier this week. Reports now suggest an initial fee has been agreed, with both clubs working to finalise add-ons that would take the total value of the deal to around £65 million.

Once Mbeumo completes his move to Old Trafford, the focus will shift to player sales and strengthening the squad further with a new striker and midfielder before the Premier League season begins in mid-August.

Mbeumo’s United move is a “dream”

With Mbeumo close to a move to United despite interest from elsewhere in the Premier League, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that the winger sees his pending transfer as a “dream” move.

“Mbeumo is really in a great relationship with all people at Brentford, but he’s also been clear in this case, telling them that going to Manchester United for him is a dream move,” Romano confirmed on YouTube.

“He would like to go to Man United as soon as possible. Man United improved their bid in the recent days from what I heard over the weekend. The new bid was sent in excess of £60 million package, so Man Utd are trying to get it done as soon as possible.

“The negotiation is ongoing, is well underway. Man United are confident and I maintain them as clear favourites to sign Beumo because the conversation is ongoing.

“They are talking on a daily basis, and I think there are very good chances to see Brian Beumo to be the second addition of the summer for Man United after Matheus Cunha.”

Second United target looking to follow in Mbuemo’s footsteps

With Mbeumo close to being finalised, United will move on to trying to secure a striker in the next few weeks.

While there have been reports that the club are interested in 22-year-old Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, the player’s £85 million price tag is too high. The club have also been linked with £20 million-rated Genk striker Tolu Arokodare as a cheaper option, who stands at six feet and six inches.

In an interview with SportsBoom, as reported by The Metro, the 24-year-old giant has revealed he is a boyhood United fan and it would be a “dream” to move to England, much like Mbeumo.

“Obviously, it’s a dream to play in the Premier League, but I have my eyes on it for sure,’ he said. “Whatever options I have, I’ll take my time and make the best decision. I’m a Manchester United fan, and if it happens, it would mean a lot to me and my family.”

The Nigerian international enjoyed a fantastic season in Belgium last campaign, scoring 23 goals across all competitions and providing seven further assists.
