Scott McTominay “reluctance” for two Premier League transfers explained as Man United agree deal with Napoli
Scott McTominay’s “reluctance” for two Premier League transfers has been explained as Manchester United agree a deal with Napoli.
According to David Ornstein, Napoli have reached an agreement with United to sign Scottish international Scott McTominay, with the focus now on the player finalising personal terms.
The deal includes a transfer fee of approximately £25.4 million, with United also set to receive a percentage of any future sale by Napoli.
Additionally, Ornstein revealed that if McTominay’s transfer is completed, it would significantly enhance United’s efforts to pursue Manuel Ugarte.
Fabrizio Romano has since added that McTominay wants the move and is discussing personal terms. United are also in talks with the player over a payoff similar to the one paid to Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
According to ESPN, Everton and Fulham were both interested in signing the Scottish midfielder this summer.
The report explained that McTominay had been reluctant to join another Premier League club, having been associated with United since the age of six.
McTominay made his debut in 2017 and has 253 total appearances for the club and scored 29 goals.
While the academy graduate’s exit could help bring in Ugarte, many fans will be glad that United will not be facing McTominay in the Premier League.
