Rúben Amorim’s reaction to Amad’s goal vs Nottingham Forest speaks volumes about Man Utd change

Rúben Amorim’s big reaction following Amad’s equaliser against Nottingham Forest speaks volumes about recent changes at Manchester United.

Manchester United were forced to settle for a 2–2 draw against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground after a thrilling contest featuring goals from Casemiro and Amad.

Casemiro opened the scoring in the first half, after leaping highest to nod in a superb corner from Bruno Fernandes.

Forest hit back after the interval, with Morgan Gibbs-White powering home a header to equalise. Moments later, Nicolò Savona punished United’s poor defending to put Sean Dyche’s men in front.

Late on, Amad salvaged a point after unleashing a brilliant first-time volley from outside the box to secure a share of the spoils for Rúben Amorim’s side.

Amorim shows a different side

During his time at the club, Amorim has tended to react with caution when United score. Often showing little to no emotion, unlike previous managers who erupt with theatrics. This comes as a contrast to the emotional interviews he gives to the media after games.

However, Amad’s equaliser brought out a new side to the Portuguese manager.

Amorim was seen charging out from the dugout and urging his side to push on for another win. A rush of emotion we have not seen so far under his tenure.

This sudden change encapsulates the recent mentality shift from United. Instead of going a goal down and dropping their heads, the players fought back to earn the point and believed they could go on to score a winner, which unfortunately did not come.

Confidence is at an all-time high

After now going four games unbeaten, it is only right that confidence has grown within the club and the fanbase. This time last season, if the side went 2-1 down, very few people would have the belief that the club would be able to turn it around, and now, after a string of good results, the belief is there.

Especially with three dramatic games in a row, it is hard not to feel the optimism which was sapped from the club last season.

However, the Red Devils are about to continue their tough run with games against Spurs, Everton and the high-flying Crystal Palace coming up. These, in their own right, will be further tests of the team’s newly found resilience.

As quickly as pressure can be relieved, it can come back just as swiftly if results go against the club.
