Ruben Amorim’s side have recently succeeded in luring Le-Havre’s 18-year-old prospect, Enzo Kana-Biyik, to Manchester with terms agreed.
As revealed by GIVEMESPORT, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is ‘seriously considering’ including Kana-Biyik in his pre-season tour plans.
United are set to play in a number of pre-season competitions this summer, with the first of those being in Sweden against Leeds United on July 19th.
The bulk of their pre-season fixtures come from the Premier League Summer Series, a number of games against familiar competition, in less-than-familiar stadiums, such as their fixture against Bournemouth at Soldier Field in Chicago.
The last time United went to Chicago, a certain young Spaniard made his unofficial debut for the club, with David De Gea going on to make the most appearances of any goalkeeper for the Red Devils.
There are only three fixtures in total, with United also playing West Ham and Everton, with the total games ranging from late July to early August, giving Kana-Biyik plenty of time to settle in.
Amorim eager to help youngster with switch
Again, as per GIVEMESPORT, Amorim is tempted to reward Kana-Biyik with ‘an early opportunity to feel part of the squad and gain an understanding of the environment they are trying to build at Old Trafford as preparations are made for the 2025/26 campaign.’
This could prove to be vital if the youngster is to settle in at United, with the teenager previously spending the entirety of his youth career in at Le Havre.
The young Franco-Cameroonian comes from a long line of Cameroonian footballers, his father André Kana-Biyik has the eighth-most international caps for Cameroon and his uncle, François Omam-Biyik, has the ninth most, also coaching Andre Onana as the African side’s assistant coach. Kana-Biyik also has a brother in the PSG U17s team.
The Frenchman himself has been described as a ‘wonderkid’ after showing plenty of promise within his current club’s youth system, as well as being included in two first-team squads this season.
The first of many ‘wonderkids’ at United
Ruben Amorim has been very vocal about his club’s need for quality players this summer transfer window, with Kana-Biyik being the first signing of this period to be agreed.
The signing of young talent doesn’t seem like it will stop there either, with INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe not hiding their ambitions to develop a squad for the future, as well as for the coming season.
Other young players signed since the club’s minority takeover include Ayden Heaven, Chido Obi Martin, Sekou Kone and Diego Leon . The club has also been linked to signing young Malaian talent Soungalo Coulibaly in the summer, so there is clearly a long-term plan in place for youth development.
With all the young talent coming in, fans will be hoping that some of these hot prospects can prove to have what it takes to write their names into Manchester United history.
