Ruben Amorim has made a hidden change at Manchester United which relates to previous complaints made about Erik ten Hag’s training methods.
Manchester United appear to be finding their rhythm this season after a shaky start, with the club’s new signings beginning to make a noticeable impact in the Premier League.
During the summer transfer window, United strengthened their attacking lineup with the arrivals of Benjamin Šeško, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo. The Reds also wrapped up a deadline-day deal for goalkeeper Senne Lammens.
All four of those players have helped United find a level of consistency, with three wins and two draws coming from their last five games.
United have also benefited from a lack of injury concerns and that has come partly due to changes Ruben Amorim has made behind-the-scenes at Carrington.
Amorim’s hidden change at United revealed
According to a report from The Sun, some United players were unhappy with the intensity of training sessions under ex-boss Erik ten Hag.
The Dutchman saw major injury crisis’ during his time at Old Trafford and that same report explained how Amorim has adjusted the team’s training pattern so that their daily sessions become less intense as they approach matchday each week.
This is something that is made much easier due to the fact that United are only playing once a week but there seems to be clear benefits from the approach.
One of the standout qualities about the current United team is their physicality and that was something that was a major concern 12 months ago.
No major injury concerns for Amorim
Lisandro Martínez has recently returned to team training at Carrington which means there are no major injuries for Amorim to worry about right now.
Šeško suffered a setback in the latest game but it has been reported that he will not be absent for an extended period.
There was criticism when reports emerged stating that United players were unhappy with the intensity in training under Ten Hag but it does seem like the changes made are worthwhile.
