Rúben Amorim has been tipped to sell one of Manchester United’s “super talents” as “a lot of clubs” circle following a revelation about his price tag.
Following their heartbreaking loss in the Europa League final, Manchester United are planning to entirely revamp Rúben Amorim’s squad in a bold effort to significantly improve the quality, energy, and consistency of those taking to the pitch at Old Trafford next season.
Several departures are already certain, with Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelöf, and Jonny Evans all set to leave once their contracts expire at the end of June, marking the end of an era for each of them.
Beyond these exits, the club will need to offload multiple additional players to maximise Amorim’s summer transfer budget, which reportedly sits at around £100 million—a figure that must stretch far to meet their ambitious plans.
The futures of key figures such as Alejandro Garnacho, Casemiro, and Rasmus Højlund remain uncertain, casting doubt over the next phase of the rebuild.
Garnacho set for mega transfer interest this summer
Garnacho is one of United’s most valuable assets under Amorim, and following cryptic comments surrounding his future at the club after the Europa League final, his future is in doubt.
Former Liverpool midfielder and regular BBC Sport pundit Danny Murphy now believes that, with United in financial trouble after losing out on around £80 million following the European loss, Garnacho will be sold this summer, with many clubs interested in the 20-year-old.
“It looks like Alejandro Garnacho will leave Manchester United in the summer,” Murphy explained to talkSPORT. “Not just because he was angry at not starting the Europa League final, but also because of the finances the club will lose at not getting into the Champions League.
“They need to generate some money of their own, and Garnacho is a big asset, especially as he’d count as pure profit because he came through the academy.
“I think it’s unlikely he will be at Man United next season – I really believe he will be sold. In terms of potential destinations, there will be a lot of clubs who are interested in him because he’s a super talent, so we’ll have to see what happens in the transfer window.”
United set Garnacho price tag in the wake of Europa League loss
In the days following the Europa League final loss, reports have now emerged surrounding how much United will demand for Garnacho this summer.
In the January transfer window, Chelsea registered significant interest while Napoli came close to securing him as a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and it seems as if both players will be in the mix for him again this summer.
With multiple clubs circling Garnacho, United have put a price tag of around £60 million on the player, with United happy to enter into talks with clubs whose bids match this price.
With Matheus Cunha likely to become United’s first-choice option on the left flank once he joins the club, Garnacho’s status at United becomes a lot more precarious.
