Ruben Amorim showed Manchester United squad interesting Rasmus Højlund clip ahead of Real Sociedad clash

Ruben Amorim showed his Manchester United squad a specific clip of Rasmus Højlund ahead of the Europa League clash against Real Sociedad.
Manchester United are set to take on Real Sociedad in the second leg of their Europa League round-of-16 clash this Thursday, following a draw in the first leg.
With their Premier League campaign stuttering, the Europa League presents United’s best chance to secure both a trophy and European football for next season.
Ruben Amorim’s side remain unbeaten in the competition and dominated the first leg in San Sebastián. However, despite their control, United had to settle for a 1-1 draw after Sociedad were awarded a contentious penalty.
The decisive match will be held at Old Trafford this week, with both teams facing injury concerns ahead of the crucial encounter.
Amorim shows United squad interesting Højlund clip
Rasmus Højlund has been struggling for form this season and is currently 20 games without a goal. That streak has also clearly impacted his confidence.
The Dane is likely going to start against Sociedad on Thursday evening and Amorim has been asked how things can turn around for the 22-year-old forward.
He explained that he is trying to highlight some of the good work the striker is doing and has even revealed that one specific action was shown to the entire squad.
When Joshua Zirkzee scored last time out against Sociedad, the Danish striker made a movement which blocked one of the defenders from attempting to clear Zirkzee’s shot.
“We try to show the good things that people don’t see,” Amorim told TNT Sports. “For example, in our goal in Spain, there was an action with Dalot and Garnacho, and if you look closely, Josh [Zirkzee] has space because Rasmus made the run.
“And when Josh shoots, Rasmus screens the defender who can block the ball. That’s what we showed the team in the preparation for this match.
“I try to show that everyone is really important here. Rasmus does a lot of things well, but he’s in a period where, as a striker, he needs to score. Sometimes, when he has a chance or the ball, he struggles because he lacks confidence. But the work he does during the matches helps us.”
Dropping Højlund isn’t a bad thing
United fans have been calling for Højlund to be dropped, and he was relegated to the bench for the last match against Arsenal.
However, as a 22-year-old striker still relatively new to top-level football, Højlund could also benefit from some time away from the intense spotlight.

Despite his hefty price tag, his temporary exclusion from the lineup shouldn’t be a major talking point. However, given United’s lack of attacking options, it’s not a decision that Amorim can realistically afford to make right now.
Next season will likely bring changes, and with less pressure on his shoulders, Højlund may find himself in a better position to thrive.
