Ruben Amorim is set to keep one of his “very important” Manchester United players next season after another deal has been labelled as “99% complete”.

Manchester United are set to have a very busy summer transfer window as Ruben Amorim’s squad needs freshening up.

The Portuguese boss needs some quality additions into his squad but the club also needs to make several key sales.

Several players have been underperforming but United also need the extra cash from departures if they want to make the most of their signings.

The club have reportedly already drawn up a four-man priority list for the window and will also be aiming to offload several stars when the season finishes.

Dalot set to stay at United after Alexander-Arnold update

Diogo Dalot’s future at United seemed set in stone after receiving the Player of the Year award for his performances last season.

However, question marks have risen over the Portuguese right-back this season, particularly due to the change of management to Ruben Amorim.

Dalot excelled playing as an inverted fullback but is not tasked with being a flying wingback, which does not seem to suit his style and his performances this term have dipped dramatically.

This led to exit rumours and reports earlier this season stated that Real Madrid were interested in signing Dalot if their pursuit of Trent Alexander-Arnold became unsuccessful.

It was noted at the time that Madrid felt like a £45 million offer would be enough to convince United, even though Amorim was reluctant to lose the defender.

However, according to a new report from Marca, Alexander-Arnold’s move to Madrid is said to be 99% complete ahead of the summer window.

This anticipated development means that the La Liga giants are highly unlikely to try and sign Dalot from United.

Bayern also interested in “very important” Dalot

There are rumours of other top European clubs eyeing Dalot ahead of the summer, with Bayern Munich holding a particular interest in the player.

It has been claimed that Bayern boss Vincent Kompany is a big fan of the 26-year-old and could look to sign him in the summer.

On the other hand, the right-back could remain at Old Trafford next season under Amorim, who has previously explained that he is a “very important” player for United.

“A great player that can help the team and he is really a team player,” Amorim said. “You can feel it in every way, he leads the game and he is very important for us.”

While the defender may not be a guaranteed starter going forward if United want to be successful, his determination, mindset and availability certainly makes him a solid player to have in the squad.
