Rúben Amorim sent clear warning about Brighton star, he will ‘haunt’ Manchester United defenders

Rúben Amorim has been sent a warning over a top performing ex-Manchester United star in preparation for the Brighton matchup this weekend.

This Saturday sees Manchester United face Brighton at home. The Seagulls have collected all three points at Old Trafford for three years running now.

Rúben Amorim will be looking to change this loss streak against Fabian Hurzeler’s side and continue United’s bright form.

United recently ended a huge streak of being winless at Anfield in the Premier League for almost ten years running so Amorim’s side should be looking forward to this weekends game to end another negative streak.

Brighton, who sit one place below United at 10th, will also be coming into the affair with confidence as they are unbeaten in four Premier League games, which includes wins against Chelsea and Newcastle.

Sutton praises Welbeck’s positive form and expects it to continue

Ex-Premier League striker Chris Sutton has sent a message to Amorim when predicting the score of game. Sutton predicted a 1-2 Brighton win over United and highlighted Danny Welbeck as a key player to watch.

Welbeck scored both of Brighton’s goals in their 2-1 win over Newcastle on Saturday, continuing his form from the Chelsea game in late September where he bagged a brace.

The ex-Red has scored when facing his former side in the last two seasons, proving to be a consistent problem for the United defence.

Sutton expects Welbeck to score for a third season running, saying, “I am backing Welbeck to get one of their goals, and haunt his former club.”

In his pre-match programme notes Amorim has expressed his confidence over the positive training session saying he was “really pleased with how quickly the group turned its attention, and showed the right focus and determination, to prepare for Brighton.”

Top defensive performances are needed vs Brighton

The performances from Harry Maguire and Matthijs De Ligt against Liverpool will boost Amorim’s confidence in the United defence for Saturday.

Senne Lammens will also be looking to continue his bright start in a United shirt, keeping Danny Welbeck quiet will be key to grabbing United a second clean sheet of the season.

Amorim will have to listen to Sutton’s warnings of Welbeck and Hurzeler’s fearless style of play to make sure that United stay defensively strong.

Brighton are yet to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League this season and Amorim’s attack will have to be focused and ready to make sure their first doesn’t come against United.
