Ruben Amorim sends clear message to Manchester United’s chiefs about Bryan Mbeumo after Omar Berrada’s claim

Ruben Amorim has sent a clear message to the chiefs at Manchester United about Brentford star and transfer target Bryan Mbeumo.

Manchester United are trying to improve Ruben Amorim’s squad this summer with some new signings, with Matheus Cunha already through the door.

There is also a clear desire to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford to add further quality to the frontline. He scored 20 goals in the Premier League last season.

After the Cameroon international communicated his preference to join United, they submitted a bid worth £55 million for him but Brentford swiftly rejected that.

It has become clear that the London-based club are looking for more than £60 million for Mbeumo and United are still yet to launch a second offer despite being in regular discussions with Brentford.

Berrada’s claim about United signings

Reports have explained that the Reds want to be careful and ensure that their next bid for Mbeumo is the one which gets accepted, and they are still leading the race despite taking their time.

Omar Berrada explained in a recent interview with United We Stand that the Reds need to ensure they are getting ‘value for money’ in the transfer window.

“Sometimes when you’re not quick, it’s because you’re negotiating and you’re trying to make sure you get the right value for money. So being efficient or quick isn’t necessarily the best thing for the club,” he said.

Even though this is certainly an approach that United have been missing, they also need to ensure that they are not sacrificing important time in pre-season, which seems to be rapidly approaching.

Amorim sends United chiefs clear Mbeumo message

It has been claimed by The Mirror that Amorim is growing slightly impatient with the time it is taking to get deals done – that likely applies to outgoings too.

The United boss wants any new signings through the door in time for the club’s pre-season tour of the United States, which is in around four weeks time.

With three games being played during that tour, Amorim sees it as the ideal environment for the likes of Mbeumo and any other new additions to integrate into the squad and system.

While Berrada is right to highlight the need to take time with negotiations, there also needs to be a balance to ensure the Reds prepare for the new season in the best way possible.
