Ruben Amorim reveals what Jose Mourinho told him after taking Man United job

Ruben Amorim has revealed what Jose Mourinho told him after he took the head coach role at Manchester United.
Amorim’s first game in charge at United is quickly approaching, with the Reds facing Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon.
The 39-year-old began his role at Old Trafford almost two weeks ago but has only been on the grass with his squad since the start of this week.
United currently sit 13th in the Premier League table but are only four points away from the top four.
There are plenty of games in the coming months for Amorim to try and improve the club’s situation on the pitch.
Ahead of his first game on the weekend, he spoke to the press for the first time on Friday afternoon.
Amorim reveals Mourinho message
There have been some comparisons made between Amorim and former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.
The 39-year-old worked under Mourinho at United during an internship in 2018 and as a young Portuguese coach, it no surprise that Amorim looks up to him.
“He sent me a message,” said Amorim when asked if he has spoke to Mourinho since taking the job at Old Trafford.
“He said welcome to the club, he said it’s a big club and in that respect he’s correct. But a lot of things change, we are in a different building now, we are building a new one.
“I’m a different guy and I hope to teach something to my players. The club is still big, it is still the best in England and we want to win.
“For all the Portuguese coaches, he showed we can be the best in the world. It’s a small country, but I am different from Mourinho.
“You look at Mourinho and think he can be everywhere. He was European champion and I am not. Football these days is different and I think I am the right person for this moment, I am a young guy.”
