Ruben Amorim has revealed what he learnt about two Manchester United players during the draw against Ipswich Town.

Manchester United drew 1-1 against Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon in Ruben Amorim’s first game in charge of the club.

Marcus Rashford scored an opener within two minutes after some brilliant work from Amad Diallo on the flank.

However, United failed to build on their early lead and Ipswich got a deserved equaliser just before half-time.

Creativity was lacking in the second half and United failed to secure three points in the game.

Yet, it was another good experience for Amorim to learn more about his players, some of which he only had a handful of time in training beforehand.

After the game, he explained some of the things that he learnt about Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho in particular.

“Bruno Fernandes, I think he improved his game by playing nearer the ball, feeling the ball, so he can give us sometimes the long pass,” began Amorim during his Sky Sports interview.

“But you can not put him there all the time because he wants the long pass all the time.

“So we try to find things about the players, we will need a lot of time to work out these things.

“You start discovering things that you didn’t know like Garna[cho], can hold the ball between lines.

“You can understand that by seeing the games because he’s always open so you try to find these things.”

Amorim’s next game comes on Thursday in the Europa League against Bodø/Glimt, which will be his first time managing at Old Trafford.

He will get the opportunity to have a few more days on the training pitch with his team, and he will be hoping for a much better performance and result.
