Ruben Amorim reveals what ACTUALLY happened in Man Utd training to cause Amad’s season-ending injury

Ruben Amorim has explained how Amad suffered his season-ending injury in Manchester United training this week.
Manchester United fell to a 1-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League clash in North London on Sunday afternoon.
Both sides have underperformed this season, but Spurs took advantage of United’s defensive lapses to score through James Maddison.
He reacted quickest when André Onana failed to deal with a shot from Lucas Bergvall, parrying it into a dangerous area and allowing Maddison an easy finish.
Ruben Amorim’s team struggled in attack, failing to find the net against a Spurs defence known for its weaknesses.
However, Amorim’s reluctance to make changes was evident, as he made just one substitution, bringing on Chido Obi in the 90th minute.
The Portuguese coach had a bench full of Academy talent to go alongside Victor Lindelöf due to the recent injury crisis at the club.
United experiencing fresh injury crisis
Amorim has faced even more difficulties at Old Trafford this week after several setbacks on the training field.
Amad suffered a serious ankle injury in the week which will keep him out of action for the rest of the season. He has been one of United’s best players this year.
Kobbie Mainoo will also be unavailable for over a month after suffering a muscular injury in training this week.
Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer also suffered issues which kept them out of the game against Spurs, while Leny Yoro and Christian Eriksen were unavailable through illness.
Amorim reveals what happened to cause Amad injury
Many supporters are understandably questioning how such a long-term injury could occur to Amad during training.
Speaking after the game on Sunday, Amorim revealed that the injury occurred due to Amad getting his feet “stuck in the grass” at Carrington after making a challenge.
“Amad is out for the rest of the season,” Amorim told reporters. “He did a tackle, and his feet [got] stuck in the grass. Christian Eriksen and Leny Yoro were sick [but could return soon].”

After failing to score against Spurs, who rarely manage to keep clean sheets, Amorim needs to quickly figure out how to adapt with Amad unavailable.
