Ruben Amorim has received two unexpected boosts ahead of Manchester United’s home game this week against West Ham.
Manchester United bounced back on the weekend after defeat to Everton by beating Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
After going behind in the first-half, the Reds scored twice in the second period through Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount to secure three points.
Ruben Amorim’s side are now sitting seventh in the Premier League table but just four points separate them from Manchester City in second-place.
With some favourable fixtures coming up for the Reds, they will be hoping to put together a solid run of form to help try and solidify a strong position in the table.
Paquetá suspended for United vs West Ham
United’s next opponent comes on Thursday night against West Ham, who have improved since Nuno Espírito Santo was appointed. They have won two of their last four games.
While the game will be played at Old Trafford, there are never any guarantees when playing against Premier League opposition, but United have received an unexpected boost for the clash.
The Hammers lost to Liverpool on the weekend but the most bizarre moment of the game came late on when Lucas Paquetá talked himself into receiving a red card.
Since the sending off came through two quick-fire yellow cards, the Brazilian will only miss one game for West Ham but that fixture comes against United.
Paquetá has been one of West Ham’s better performers this season and it a boost for the Reds that he will not be available for the trip to Manchester.
Casemiro avoids suspension for West Ham clash
United received another boost on the weekend during their win over Palace, with Casemiro avoiding a booking throughout the game.
The midfielder played the full game and committed four fouls across the 90 minutes, and one of them came in the last minute on the edge of the box.

It was quite surprising that he was not cautioned for any of those fouls. A yellow card would have seen his tally for the season reach five, and a one-match suspension would have kicked in.
Instead, Casemiro will be available for the game this week although he will have to act carefully to avoid a booking in that match.
