Ruben Amorim receives pre-season message from excellent starlet, Man Utd rejected January bid for him

One Manchester United starlet is knocking on the door of Ruben Amorim ahead of the upcoming pre-season tour of the United States.

Manchester United’s under-21s side delivered a convincing performance against Reading on Friday evening and got a deserved 4-1 victory on the night.

The result lifts Travis Binnion’s side to fifth-place in the PL2 with one game remaining and there were a lot of positives to take from the game.

Gabriele Biancheri started the game upfront in the absence of Chido Obi, who could be involved for United’s first-team clash against Newcastle on Sunday afternoon.

The young Welshman produced a brilliant display and managed to bag two goals to add to his healthy tally this term. He has scored over 20 goals in all competitions.

Biancheri sends pre-season message to Amorim

His first goal was an example of his wonderful ball-striking after a wonderful counter-attacking move from the Reds. He received the ball approaching the box and smashed a low effort into the far corner.

Then, the teenager showcased his best skill – and an underrated one – for the second when he was in the right place at the right time for Sam Mather’s square ball to finish into an empty net.

Sometimes you can consider those type of goals as luck or fortune but over the last two seasons Biancheri has shown that he knows how to find space inside of the box like a true goalscorer.

First-team boss Ruben Amorim will certainly be aware of the centre-forward’s impressive campaign and his form should reward him with action on pre-season for United.

The Reds will travel to the United States this summer and also have several other friendlies across the globe, including two post-season games in the Far East.

There are a healthy amount of youngsters pushing for action in Amorim’s squad but Biancheri is one who deserves the chance to impress the Portuguese boss in the summer.

United rejected January bid for Biancheri

Biancheri is clearly rated by the club and his early-season form even led to a January bid coming in from Serie A side Como, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The teenager represents Wales’ youth sides at international level but is eligible to play for Italy.

However, the response from United was clear and they rejected the mid-season proposal. It was not explained what fee was offered for the forward.

The Reds signed Biancheri from Cardiff City in 2023 and he immediately became an important player for the treble-winning under-18s side last season.

Since then, he has further showcased his abilities at that level and with the under-21s, and will be hoping to push for that first-team involvement in the summer.
