Ruben Amorim receives Patrick Dorgu boost despite Manchester United vs Ipswich red card

Ruben Amorim has received a boost regarding Patrick Dorgu despite the player’s red card during Manchester United’s win over Ipswich Town.
Manchester United secured a dramatic 3-2 win over Ipswich Town at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening after Patrick Dorgu was sent off in the first-half.
Goals from Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire, as well as an own goal from Sam Morsy, helped secure United an important three points.
Dorgu has been one of the club’s brightest sparks since he signed from Lecce for £25 million in the January transfer window but made a significant mistake against The Tractor Boys.
The 20-year-old’s eager challenge against Omari Hutchinson was a deserved sending off and he will now miss the next three domestic games for United.
He will be absent for the FA Cup clash against Fulham, as well as Premier League fixtures against Arsenal and Leicester City.
Amorim receives Dorgu boost despite red card
Dorgu has been a breath of fresh air for United in recent games and fans will not be looking forward to watching the team without him on the flank.
However, one positive that United can take from this situation is that Dorgu will be fully fit for the two Europa League games the club have coming up.
Amorim’s men face Real Sociedad in the round-of-16 in the competition across two legs, with those games sandwiching the Premier League clash against Arsenal.
Dorgu’s three-match ban does not apply for European games so the youngster will be a guaranteed starter for United in those difficult games against Spanish opposition.
In fact, Amorim could even see this as a boost since it is becoming clear that the Europa League has to be the team’s main priority.
While the head coach will not admit it, the competition is United’s only hope of getting Champions League football next season and that would be huge for the club.

United may be missing Dorgu in domestic competition, but that will also mean that defender is fresh for the biggest and most important challenge against Sociedad.
Should the Reds progress against the La Liga outfit, they would face the winners from the FCSB vs Olympique Lyon tie.
