“A good thing…” Rúben Amorim applauds Manchester United moment most fans missed vs Leicester City

Rúben Amorim has applauded something most Manchester United fans missed during their FA Cup victory over Leicester City on Friday evening.
Manchester United are through to the FA Cup fifth round after Harry Maguire’s dramatic stoppage-time header secured a thrilling victory over Leicester City on Friday night.
Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side arrived with a disciplined game plan, absorbing United’s early pressure and limiting their attacking threat. Despite gradually gaining control, Rúben Amorim’s men were caught out just before half-time, as Bobby De Cordova-Reid struck to give Leicester the lead. United, meanwhile, failed to register a single shot on target in the first half.
Amorim responded with attacking changes after the break, introducing Alejandro Garnacho and Joshua Zirkzee. Garnacho immediately lifted the energy inside Old Trafford, with his shot dramatically cleared off the line. The breakthrough finally arrived when a deflected Rasmus Højlund effort fell perfectly for Zirkzee, who slotted home the equaliser.
As United continued to press for a winner, their persistence paid off deep into stoppage time. Bruno Fernandes delivered a sublime free kick into the box, and Maguire rose highest to steer a brilliant header into the net, sealing a dramatic comeback and sending United into the next round.
Amorim praises Rasmus Højlund moment
After the game, Amorim was asked about striker Rasmus Højlund who has now not scored in his last 14 appearances.
The 40-year-old was asked about why the Danish international has looked so frustrated in recent weeks, and more specifically about a moment most fans missed when he and the striker had a heated conversation in the second half.
“I think it’s a good thing,” Amorim said in reply related to Højlund’s visible frustration. “I will not say one word bad about this type of behaviour.
“He needs to understand that sometimes he has to do a job without touching the ball. He cannot get so frustrated because in the next play, maybe he will have a situation near the goal. So he has to be calm.
“But this is a character, and if you know so many players from that kind of character that he has from that country, they always want more. They want to score, they feel the critics.
“So, it’s a good thing, but he will improve. And a striker needs a very good team to deliver very good balls for him, and we are not helping our strikers at moment.”
