Rúben Amorim singles out “important” Manchester United duo, they have been key to winning games

Rúben Amorim has singled out two Manchester United players who he feels have become important in terms of helping his side win games during a tough period.
Rúben Amorim’s most pressing issue at Manchester United in recent months has been the squad’s struggle in front of goal.
Alejandro Garnacho has now gone over 20 matches without scoring, while Rasmus Højlund’s drought extends to 19 games, leaving fans increasingly frustrated.
Joshua Zirkzee recently found the net against Real Sociedad, but that was only his third goal in 22 appearances—many of which have come from the bench or in wide roles.
United are also without Amad, who was the team’s top scorer before suffering an ankle injury last month. Meanwhile, both Antony and Marcus Rashford were loaned out in January without a replacement being brought in.
Amorim highlights two important players
When United have scored goals of late, the majority of these have been created through dead-ball moments from Bruno Fernandes, with either the captain’s cross or pass finding a player to score or creating a frenzy in the box that leads to a goal.
Another player who has been of importance of late is Zirkzee, who has become a key part of the front line. Speaking to club media ahead of the game against Arsenal, Amorim highlighted this duo as an important pair for his squad who have been key to winning matches of late.
“I think some players are improving individually. Josh, I think is improving, in changing, a little bit, the position,” Amorim said.
“We are trying to find a better space for Bruno but sometimes you want him, yes, everywhere as he’s really important for us.
“Even against Ipswich, we suffered a goal and we continued to play the same way and I feel, in these small details, I feel that the team believes a little bit more.
“The rest, I think, it’s hard to see things in this season. It’s more h”ere in Carrington, the way we are training, the intensity, and we are trying to find a way to improve the team.”
United players need to keep trusting their strikers
Something that many have alluded to in recent weeks to do with the goal scoring problems is that striker Højlund seems to have very few touches of the ball.

While centre-forwards do tend to have fewer touches than others, such as midfielders or defenders, Højlund is barely seeing any touches either in or outside an opposition box, which points to the notion that players are not passing to him.
A key example of this came against Sociedad when Diogo Dalot had the perfect chance to throw in a cross for Højlund in the first half but chose instead to cut back and play inside, much to the frustration of both the team and fans.
Although the front line are on a very shoddy scoring streak, the other players must start and continue to pass and supply them with chances with the trust that they will score, as goals will not come until chances are made.
