“That’s just a fact…” Rúben Amorim’s recent Manchester United transfer claim slammed by ex-player
Rúben Amorim has been told his recent claim about Manchester United’s transfer abilities is incorrect amid what is lining up to be a huge summer for the Old Trafford club.
Manchester United are preparing for a major summer overhaul as they aim to generate as much profit as possible from player sales to fund Rúben Amorim’s squad rebuild.
A significant clear-out is expected in the upcoming transfer window, with several current players deemed unsuited to Amorim’s system.
United are set to part ways with multiple first-team members, including Victor Lindelöf and Christian Eriksen, who will be out of contract at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, the club also plans to sell loanees Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia, along with other senior players such as Casemiro.
With this in mind, many feel that the club may have a major overhaul this summer in order to sign players who better suit the player’s system.
Amorim’s latest transfer claim
United are unlikely to hvae Champions League football next season unless they can win the Europa League, with the club sat 14th in the Premier League table.
However, speaking on Wednesday evening, Amorim stated he feels confident that the club can still attract top players despite the lack of Champions League football.
“So I know it’s a massive pressure but I will say it again: Manchester United can call all the best players, even without Champions League in the future,” Amorim said.
“We have to change a lot of things and we’re trying to do that. There’s more important things than winning cups in this moment. That is my feeling, but I understand winning Europa League can change everything for us in the next season.”
Silvestre sends transfer warning to Amorim
However, former United Mikael Silvestre has disagreed, feeling that some transfer targets would stay away from Old Trafford due to their lack of Champions League football.
“If you’ve got five top players who could possibly be on the move in the summer, and you’ve got all the big clubs looking at them, what is there that entices those players to Manchester United?” Silvestre told MGM.

“At the moment, all of the other big clubs have Champions League football and are vying to win their respective leagues, Manchester United are likely going to finish in their lowest league position in ages and could easily not have Champions League football.
“As a professional footballer you get one hit and when you get to a certain age, you want to be playing in Europe’s biggest competition and you want to be competing for titles in the biggest leagues around the world.
“If someone doesn’t give you that, like Manchester United at the moment, you look elsewhere – that’s just a fact.”
