“That’s not right…” Rúben Amorim reacts as Manchester United drawn vs Real Sociedad in the Europa League

Rúben Amorim has reacted to the news that Manchester United have been drawn against Real Sociedad in the Europa League knockout stages.
Manchester United will face Real Sociedad in the Europa League round of 16 as Rúben Amorim looks to secure his first trophy as head coach at Old Trafford.
United began their campaign under Erik ten Hag with three consecutive draws against FC Twente, FC Porto, and Fenerbahce. However, after Ruud van Nistelrooy took over as caretaker manager, they secured their first victory in the competition, defeating PAOK.
With Amorim’s arrival, United’s fortunes improved dramatically. The team won their final four group-stage matches against Bodo/Glimt, FC Plzen, Rangers, and FCSB, climbing up the table in the process.
Finishing third in the Europa League standings allowed them to bypass the qualification round for the knockout stage, setting up a clash with Real Sociedad. The Spanish side advanced comfortably, beating FC Midtjylland 7-3 on aggregate after placing 13th in the league phase.
Amorim reacts to Sociedad draw
With the Europa League draw having taken place on Friday afternoon, Amorim held his pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League fixture just before.
During his time with reporters, Amorim was asked for his thoughts on the Sociedad draw, and more broadly on if he is thinking about winning the Europa League.
However, the 40-year-old was quick to point out that he feels there is no point thinking about the game that does not kick off until early March.
“I just want to win everything,” he said. “I want to be really, really clear on that. I think we are in a difficult situation in the Premier League, we have a lot of issues to solve in every game.

“If you see our performances, if I focus on the games against Real Sociedad and thinking about trophies, it is not the right way to do my job in the moment. So I just focus and I want to win against Everton.”
