Rúben Amorim has issued injury updates on ten Manchester United players ahead of their Premier League encounter with Everton on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United will be looking to get back to winning ways when they face Everton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Rúben Amorim’s side fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in their last outing, a result that left them 15th in the table and under mounting pressure.

United will be aiming for a repeat of their dominant 4-0 victory over Everton in November, when Joshua Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford both scored twice in what remains Amorim’s most convincing win so far.

However, since then, former United manager David Moyes has taken charge at Goodison Park, guiding Everton to an improvement in form that sees them 14th in the table—one point ahead of United after 25 games.

Amorim’s ten injury updates

Friday afternoon saw Amorim take the hot seat in his pre-match press conference ahead of the tie against Everton.

Last time out, United had 12 first-team players unavailable, although the head coach confirmed that Leny Yoro, Christian Eriksen, and Manuel Ugarte are all expected to return to the squad this weekend.

The boss also clarified that Eriksen’s absence was a misunderstanding after some feared that his absence against Tottenham was related to a heart issue he suffered from in 2021.

“Yes, because we don’t lose players,” Amorim said when asked if training was better thsi week cmopared to last, “We recover players – Chris, Manu and Leny return and, with Chris, it was a misunderstanding.

“I want to be really clear on that also, because of Chris. He’s healthy and ready to play for many years in a high level. It’s just my limitations explaining the injuries. I want to make this really clear.”

Further, Amorim was then quizzed on United’s other current absentees, with updates provided on Amad, Toby Collyer, Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount, and Luke Shaw.

“It’s hard to know [about the others],” he continued. “Amad is for a long time. I think Mase [Mount] continues to make his recovery. Luke continues to make his recovery. I don’t have a day [for his return].

“Toby seems to be the closest one, but not now. Kobbie is recovering. We have to adapt to use the players we have for the schedule.”

Beyond this, Lisandro Martínez has been ruled out until the end of the season after undergoing surgery on his knee following a ruptured ACL, while goalkeepers Altay Bayındır and Tom Heaton are working on making returns to training.
