Ruben Amorim makes Man Utd feelings clear after Marcus Rashford made ‘inconsistent environment’ claim

Ruben Amorim has been asked about recent comments made by Marcus Rashford about the environment at Manchester United.

Manchester United have made a slow start to their Premier League campaign, currently sitting 10th after seven matches.

Ruben Amorim’s side would have expected a brighter beginning to the season, but many of their performances have failed to live up to expectations.

Over the summer, the Reds bolstered their attacking ranks with the signings of Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Šeško, and Bryan Mbeumo, while also adding Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens to their squad.

Meanwhile, several players departed the club on loans and permanent transfers, with Marcus Rashford being one of those as he moved to Barcelona on a season-long loan.

Amorim makes feelings clear after Rashford’s environment claim

Rashford’s start to the season for Barcelona has been very promising, with three goals and five assists in 11 games.

Recently, the 28-year-old forward suggested that some of his struggles in recent years came down to being in an ‘inconsistent environment’.

When asked about those comments this week, Amorim refused to spark any controversy and simply explained how he is focused on those at Old Trafford now.

“I’m just focused on the future of the club, on the present of the club,” replied Amorim, who is looking ahead to a game against Liverpool this weekend.

“That is the most important thing. So, I’m focused just on my players and what they say, what they do, that is my main focus.”

United need to improve the environment

Amorim is not shy about giving the media an easy headline but he was sensible in this moment, even if he might have his own thoughts about Rashford’s problems.

While fans continue to have split opinions on the forward, it is undeniable that Old Trafford has not been a good place for players to develop over the last decade.

Rashford had different managers, coaches and playstyles during important years in his development, which is always going to have an impact even if he didn’t help himself in certain moments.

United need to get to a place where players can be elevated when they arrive in the first-team, rather than having to be concerned about them failing like others.
