Ruben Amorim made one mistake vs Fulham which Manchester United fans hated, it was obvious

Ruben Amorim made one glaring mistake against Fulham on Sunday night in their FA Cup defeat which Manchester United fans hated.

Manchester United began the FA Cup clash with purpose against Fulham but struggled to create significant chances in the final third, lacking speed and sharpness in attack.

As the first half neared its end, Ruben Amorim’s side conceded a frustrating goal—once again from a corner—leaving them with a challenging task in the second half.

The response was sluggish, and the Old Trafford crowd grew increasingly frustrated by the team’s lack of urgency.

However, as he has done many times this season, Bruno Fernandes stepped up when United needed him most. He met Diogo Dalot’s low cross with precision, slotting home the crucial equaliser.

With neither team able to find a winner in extra time, the match went to a penalty shootout. Fulham ultimately claimed victory after Victor Lindelöf and Joshua Zirkzee saw their spot-kicks saved.

Amorim has come into a difficult situation at United but there are some simple wins that managers can make in games.

One of those could be considered as bringing on the new, young defender you signed in the January window before a player who has no future at the club.

Lindelöf came on for United in the early stages of the second half, replacing Leny Yoro who was having a good game.

It was the Swedish defender’s first proper involvement since he got injured against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup.

Lindelöf will be leaving the club at the end of the season and United fans know what to expect from him. He was bullied off the ball within a minute of coming on and made several poor passes which put United’s defence under pressure.

Ayden Heaven, the 18-year-old defender signed in January, was not introduced for his debut until extra-time due to an injury to Harry Maguire and looked a more confident and assured player than his experienced partner.

United fans were perplexed to why Lindelöf got so much game-time over the young defender and Lindelöf’s night got even worse when he missed a penalty in the shootout.

It was obvious to every United fan in the stadium that Lindelöf would fold under the pressure against Fulham. While there was no guarantee that Heaven would have a good game, the teenager would have got more leeway from the fans than someone who’s made mistakes over and over for the club but is somehow still here.
