Ruben Amorim is ‘convinced’ Manchester United star will have ‘influential season’ despite uncertain position

Ruben Amorim is reportedly convinced that one Manchester United star is set to have an influential 2025/26 campaign despite having an uncertain position right now.

Manchester United will need to show major improvements in the upcoming season after their embarrassing struggles last term.

Ruben Amorim does not only need more new signings but he also needs to get the most out of the existing talent at Old Trafford.

Despite the terrible performances from last campaign, United have a handful of players who can make a serious impact, including 23-year-old star Amad.

The Ivorian attacker was one of the standout performers under Amorim, and his injury in February seriously impacted the team.

Amorim is convinced Amad will have standout campaign

Amad managed to score 11 goals in all competitions last term and also register 10 assists. That’s made more impressing by him missing around three months with injury.

According to GiveMeSport, Amorim is convinced that the 23-year-old can have an influential season and positively impact the attacking threat at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese boss was impressed by Amad’s willingness to follow instructions as well as his attacking flair. He often turned up for United in big moments last term.

With other offensive talents set to leave the club, such as Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho, this season is the perfect chance for Amad to prove himself as a crucial player for the Reds.

Amad’s position remains uncertain

Even though there is confidence over Amad’s ability, it seems like the Ivorian still has an uncertain position in the team.

It seemed clear that he would be operating as an attacking right wingback, playing just behind Bryan Mbeumo as the right-sided no.10.

Amad thrived as a wingback during many games last season but also played very well in that attacking midfield position.

With the Mbeumo deal still dragging on, there is a chance United do not sign him and that would then make Amad the favoured option at right-sided no.10 again.

It seems like the Ivorian’s future position largely depends on the players signed in the transfer window.
