Ruben Amorim has new Manchester United priority after “very keen” transfer update on £75,000-a-week star
Ruben Amorim may have a new Manchester United priority in the summer transfer window after an update on one £75,000-a-week star.
Manchester United secured two January signings last month – Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven – to support Ruben Amorim’s team.
It has been a season to forget for United fans so far, with the club sitting 13th in the Premier League table.
Things need to change at Old Trafford and a big summer window to support the new boss is anticipated, with several key positions which need strengthening.
The likes of Tyrell Malacia, Antony and Marcus Rashford also went on loan last month and their sales are expected in the summer.
Malacia and Shaw transfer updates
It has been reported by TeamTalk that Malacia’s contract at PSV Eindhoven has an option for the Dutch club to make his move permanent.
The report added that this is something which PSV are “very keen” to do when the season comes to an end.
Malacia will need to prove his fitness whilst on loan, but if he can do that, it is likely that the Eredivisie side would want to keep him.
Meanwhile, the report added that it is no longer certain that Luke Shaw will remain at Old Trafford next season.
The defender has only been fit for a handful of games under Amorim, who is said to want a more consistent option on the left, who he can rely on.
Shaw joined United in the summer of 2014 and is currently the club’s longest-serving first-team player.
United could have wingback priority again
Despite signing Dorgu in the January window and attempting to secure Geovany Quenda ahead of the summer – United will still need further additions on the left.
Malacia, who signed a £75,000-a-week contract at Old Trafford, and Shaw could both depart the club and that leaves United with minimal options on the left side.
Dorgu would likely become first choice but he will not be able to play every game, while Diogo Dalot should be moved back over to his preferred right side.

It should also be noted that both Dorgu and Quenda are offensive wingback options, but United would be without a natural left-back in their squad, which could be needed when Amorim wants to adjust his approach in certain games.
Amidst the chaos expected in the summer window, United and Amorim could also need to look for depth at left wingback alongside some other important positions.
