Ruben Amorim has sent a message to Manchester United supporters ahead of the game against Everton to ease their biggest concern.

Manchester United will aim to bounce back from a defeat to Spurs when they face Everton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Rúben Amorim’s side is looking to recover from a narrow 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in their last match, a result that dropped them to 15th in the table and increased the pressure on the squad.

United will be hoping to replicate their dominant 4-0 win over Everton in November, where Joshua Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford both scored twice in what remains Amorim’s most emphatic victory so far.

However, since that meeting, former United boss David Moyes has taken over at Goodison Park and has guided Everton to an upturn in form, moving them up to 14th—one point ahead of United after 25 matches.

Amorim eases United fan concern with message

One of Amorim’s biggest problems at United has been the struggles adapting to his new system, with many players unable to play their best football in these new roles right now.

At first, fans were delighted to see the Portuguese boss have a hard-lined approach with his style. There is a widespread opinion that Erik ten Hag hurt his United future by adapting to the players at Old Trafford too much.

However, as the weeks have gone on and with things getting worse, a lot of supporters have questioned whether Amorim is too strict and unable to adapt.

While fans do not want him to change things completely, there is an idea in the media that Amorim is extremely strict and will not compromise with his tactics.

This is something that the United boss addressed in his latest press conference, where he has seemed to ease those concerns with an explanation.

While he wants to stick to his overall beliefs, Amorim has assured supporters that he is more than willing to adapt his tactical approach to help the players at his disposal, and that winning games is the most important thing for him.

In a 101-word message, Amorim said: “Guys, make no mistake, I just want to win games. I teach what I know, that is clear with me. When I say I stick to my beliefs that is the way we train, the way I see football and I try to transmit that to the players.

“It’s nothing like I will not adapt because we adapt, sometimes we have goal-kicks with short plays, and then in some games we do long balls because the opposition is pressing a lot.

“I try to adapt to the players that I have. My focus is to win games, especially in this moment.”

Whether or not he is adjusting tactics or personnel, Amorim needs to find some sort of consistency in the coming weeks.

United’s form has been dire and incredibly inconsistent. A lot of that is being put down to the formation but there’s a lot more that goes into it and it’s Amorim’s job to figure out how to make some short-term improvements.
