Ruben Amorim has already explained that all of his new players will do one thing after joining Manchester United.

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Italian club Lecce for the transfer of Patrick Dorgu in a deal reportedly worth £25 million.

The talented 20-year-old was initially set to travel to England on Thursday, but his journey was delayed, allowing him the chance to bid farewell to Lecce fans following their 3-1 victory over Parma on Friday night.

Dorgu will join United as an immediate option to bolster the left wingback position under Ruben Amorim.

This season, Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazraoui, and Tyrell Malacia have all been deployed in the role, highlighting the need for an upgrade.

With his attacking mindset and ability to create danger in the final third, Dorgu appears to be the ideal fit for United’s requirements and is ready to grasp this opportunity.

Amorim already told Dorgu his first United task

After completing his medical this weekend, Dorgu will have a full week of training to prepare for a potential debut against Leicester City in the FA Cup.

However, it is something away from the pitch that Amorim wants the 20-year-old to do in his early days at the club.

When Amorim joined in November, one of his first actions as United boss was to go through a detailed tour of Old Trafford and the history behind the club.

Afterwards, the 40-year-old detailed the importance of learning the history of the club and encouraged players to have the same tour.

“It’s different. You go inside Carrington, you feel it. But when you come here, it’s so different. You see the trophies, you see the tragedy that we have as a club. The history,” he said.

“When the players come here, they should make the same tour with the same guy all the time. I think this is very important to do.

“It is one thing that you have to feel that this is Manchester United and it’s normal if you are a lot of years without winning, you start losing that. So you have to be very clear on the message that you want to put on the players.

“So I think we need to put all the players doing the same thing, to regain that feeling.”

Brilliant message from Amorim

It is a brilliant message from the United boss and something that the players hopefully all go through with, as it can be extremely powerful.

With the anniversary of the Munich Air Disaster approaching, every player and fan will be thinking about that tragedy and how it impacted the club, and how they persevered afterwards.

Players who have grown up at the club are taught about these things and carry those feelings throughout their life.

Making sure those who come in the door as new signings are educated on the club’s history, success and tragedy is very important.
