Rúben Amorim has reportedly sanctioned the loan exit of another one of his Manchester United players this summer, with a £6 million replacement lined up.
Manchester United are set to focus their efforts on offloading players this summer as the start of pre-season approaches.
The club have already added Matheus Cunha to Rúben Amorim’s squad and are negotiating with Brentford to finalise a deal for Bryan Mbeumo, with these two transfers set to swallow up much of their initial summer budget.
The club have a list of players they are openly willing to sell, with Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, and Marcus Rashford all on the chopping block, among others.
Amorim is said to want fresh funding to secure a new first-choice striker and midfielder, while a new goalkeeper will join if one of André Onana or Altay Bayındır leaves.
Amorim has added Onana to United’s loan list
Earlier this month, it was reported that Onana’s representatives had held a meeting with United to discuss the player’s future, with it being concluded that he is likely to stay at the club.
However, the English media also suggested that this was partly due to the player having few realistic suitors, while the club would still be open to the right offers for their Cameroon international.
Now, according to Alan Nixon from The Sun, Amorim would be happy to let Onana leave on loan this summer to facilitate the signing of a new first-choice shot-stopper.
Onana’s wage reportedly sits at around £120,000 a week, rising to £200,000 if bonuses are met, which has been a sticking point in attempts to offload him.
It is further detailed that Onana’s preference is to stay at United and fight for his place at the club.
United lining up £6m replacement for Onana
Amid the need for a new goalkeeper and the club’s constricted funds, it is mentioned that Club World Cup star John Victor is an option for United.

It is claimed that Amorim’s side have been tracking the 29-year-old Botafogo shot-stopper over the last 12 months, and he would be available for £6 million.
Nixon’s report also mentions two other goalkeepers, Emi Martínez from Aston Villa and Diogo Costa from FC Porto, as realistic options, although both players would command significant fees.
Costa is said to be Amorim’s No. 1 choice for the position this summer, but would cost upward of £50 million, while Martínez’s transfer fee is said to be around £40 million.
