Roy Keane reckons that Rúben Amorim is already working to solve Manchester United’s biggest problem as they prepare to face Arsenal on Wednesday evening.

Rúben Amorim’s Manchester United face a significant challenge against Arsenal, following their impressive 4-0 triumph over Everton at the weekend.

Since taking charge, Amorim has overseen two wins and a draw in his first three games, bringing a renewed sense of optimism to Old Trafford after the team’s poor start to the season under Erik ten Hag.

The trip to the Emirates pits United against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, who are coming off the back of an eye-catching 5-2 victory over West Ham.

Currently 9th in the Premier League, United are just four points off 4th-placed Brighton, keeping the battle for Champions League football very much alive.

United’s biggest problem

This season, United have failed to score goals, with the club sitting far behind their big six rivals in the Premier League scoring charts.

Their tally of 17 in the competition is a far cry from other such as Tottenham Hotspur (28), Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool (26), and Manchester City (22) during the opening 13 games of the campaign.

However, former United captain Roy Keane belives that Amorim is already fixing this issue, with the club having scored four goals against Everton on Sunday aftenoon.

“You know what, the fact that they’ve scored four goals again today, and the strikers are scoring goals, that for United,” Keane explained to Sky Sports.

“Whatever odd issues they’ve had over the last, what, year or so, they’ve not been scoring goals. So four today against everything defensively, we’re all over the place, gave away huge mistakes.

“And the attacking players are scoring goals, that’s a big boost for United. On the back of a few, obviously, three goals in Europe. So yeah, big plus for United.”

United are coming up against another club who have been smashing the scoring charts in recent seasons, with Arsenal having scored 113 goals across all competitions last campaign.

However, only Liverpool (8) have conceded fewer goals than United (13) so far this season.
