Rio Ferdinand has highlighted a ‘hidden detail’ about Bryan Mbeumo after the Cameroonian made his Man Utd debut in a 2-2 draw with Everton.
Manchester United’s summer transfer window got off to a flying start as they made a quick acquisition of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers for £62.5million.
After securing their top target, Ruben Amorim’s side quickly moved onto their other key target in Bryan Mbeumo, although this long-lasting saga has only recently reached its conclusion.
Mbeumo was signed for £65million, plus £6million in add-ons, and has joined the Red Devils on their pre-season tour of the United States.
Despite missing the first two matches in the States, the Cameroonian was given a start in United’s 2-2 draw with Everton. Rio Ferdinand has since highlighted a hidden detail in Mbeumo’s game that will make him a success.
‘Hidden detail’ in Mbeumo’s game
Speaking on TalkSPORT, the United legend sang the praises of United’s new 25-year-old winger, and explained more about the ‘serious side to him’.
Ferdinand stated: “But Mbeumo interestingly a lot, there is a serious side to him.
“There’s a professional there that will enhance the environment. He works his b—- on and off the pitch, but off the pitch, he’s got a team he’s built around him: a nutritionist, a coach, a chef, etc.
“A real detail approach to it. And he’s shown he can score. He’s been here for six years; he’s shown he can score goals.”
Ferdinand’s first impression of Mbeumo
The 46-year-old former defender has been heavily involved in United’s pre-season tour, and was able to sit down with Mbeumo for an interview. He gave Ferdinand a “real positive feeling”.
The former TNT Sports pundit said, “So, those two [Cunha and Mbeumo] are gonna add a positive streak to the club.

“But listen, you [have] got to listen for the games. We interviewed Mbeumo for his first interview for my channel, which was great.
“And when you get that detail, that closeness of him, it was a real positive feeling that I got from him.”
Ferdinand is clearly impressed with what he’s learnt about the former Brentford star, and United fans will be extremely eager to see what he can provide for their team next season.
