A recent Manchester United injury update has confirmed which games Benjamin Šeško will miss for the Reds ahead of a busy Christmas schedule.
Manchester United entered the current international break on a fantastic run of form, which has seen them go unbeaten in their last five Premier League games.
The most recent of these five games was a 2-2 draw to Tottenham Hotspur, which they earned due to a last-minute Matthijs De Ligt header. This result sent the Reds to seventh in the table.
Although Ruben Amorim’s side kept their unbeaten streak alive, there were a few injury concerns over the course of the game, one of which was the new acquisition, Benjamin Šeško.
Šeško was withdrawn from proceedings due to a knee injury, which then forced him to step out of the Slovenian side during the international break. A new update on when he may return has now been provided.
Šeško’s expected return
According to a report from Manchester World, the Slovenian forward is expected to be sidelined for ‘a month at most’, although due to the spree of upcoming fixtures, this could see him miss quite a few games.
It is understood that the 22-year-old has avoided any major knee issues, though it is being suggested that the Reds will avoid rushing him back after his setback.
As for the fixtures Šeško is expected to miss, he will certainly be out of the squad for their home fixture against Everton on Monday, 24 November, and he is unlikely to return for a trip to Crystal Palace at the end of the month.
These fixtures are soon followed by a home game against West Ham United on Thursday, 4 December, as well as a trip to Wolves on Monday, 8 December.
If it is to be a month without Šeško, then the following home fixture against Bournemouth on Monday, 15 December, should be United’s last without their new striker.
United’s forward depth
With the potential month-long absence of United’s new Slovenian, this could present Amorim with a difficult couple of months to navigate.
The Portuguese tactician will have to potentially navigate the following month without his new striker, and then, after that, he will lose a few of his stars to the Africa Cup of Nations.
All of Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo, and Noussair Mazraoui will depart Old Trafford in the middle of December to play for their countries, which could see them out of action in the league until late January.
Hopefully, Amorim can find a solution to this dilemma over the upcoming couple of months, as his side will be desperate to keep up their momentum.
